One91 Preschool

In preschool, Pathways learning is designed to spark the love of learning. Our 3- and 4-year-old students widen their worlds and build foundational skills to continue their learning journey through child-directed and teacher-guided play.

Building Skills Through Play

As active learners, we know that the most important work of young children is play.

Children learn and grow best through play experiences, which is why we embed skill-building into play to promote healthy development of the whole child. For example, math skills show up at the snack table, the block corner, cooking activities and more. This happens throughout the preschool classroom, through small group play, and circle time stories and songs.

Through these embedded experiences, we help nurture the traits children need to be successful in the rest of their Pathways learning journey and spark the love of learning.

Preschool Spark Skills

Curiosity

Showing an active interest in surroundings, people, and objects. Demonstrating an eagerness to learn.

Creativity

Demonstrating originality and inventiveness in a variety of ways. Appropriately expressing one’s unique ideas.

Engagement

Focusing and maintaining attention, making constructive choices, planning to achieve a goal.

Knowledge

Gathering, storing, and organizing information that is perceived through the senses in order to use or apply in new situations. Constructing and using knowledge.

From Play to Pathways

Development of the Spark Skills lays the foundation for being a successful learner. One91 Preschool is directly aligned with Pathways learning in kindergarten, enabling our students to take full advantage of the rich Pathways experiences built into the rest of a child’s learning journey in District 191.

Engaging Environments

One91 Preschool students develop valuable relationships with teachers and other children in language-rich and engaging learning environments.

Children are met by enthusiastic teachers who display respect and warmth. Additionally, teachers keep social/emotional needs at the forefront of their minds to support each learner wherever they’re at in the group learning process.

Language Learning

All young children are language learners. Some children are learning one language at a time and others are learning multiple languages. Language-rich environments support each child’s learning by introducing rich vocabulary and meaningful conversations with adults and other children.

Conversations are encouraged between students. Teachers prompt children to share their ideas. In addition, teachers describe what children are doing and add different kinds of words to build new vocabulary and connections to experiences outside the classroom.

Parent Partnership

Parents are a child’s most important and influential teacher.  The One91 Preschool experience partners with parents to best meet the needs of each individual child.

Flexible Programs for Every Family

One91 Preschool provides flexible preschool options for families based on schedule, location and cost. No matter which option your child attends, One91 Preschool is ready to spark curiosity, creativity, engagement, knowledge, and a love of learning in each child.
