Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten

In preschool, Pathways learning is designed to spark the love of learning. Our Pre-K students widen their worlds and build foundational skills to continue their learning journey through child-directed and teacher-guided play.

Free preschool in your neighborhood school

Voluntary Pre-K is located at each of the district's neighborhood elementary schools! This part-time option immerses students in the elementary school experience while offering a consistent schedule for children and families.

In VPK, students attend school four days per week, Tuesday-Friday, either morning or afternoon, at their neighborhood elementary school. There is limited capacity. VPK is free for District 191 residents. Transportation is provided and meal service is available.

Students must be 4-years-old by Sept. 1, 2024 and not eligible for Kindergarten (students have one year of eligibility per state statue). Independent toileting skills are required (no pull-ups).
