Crafters
Meet the first and third Thursday of the month at 9 am. If you can cut and paste this group is for you. The crafters make projects such as favors for the Meals on Wheels program.
Painter's Workshop
Self-led workshop for painters of all levels and artists in any medium. There is no teacher, but you'll learn by observing and gain perspective and insight from one another. Develop and enhance your artistic style in a cooperative group setting that provides motivation and inspiration. Please bring your own materials. Join us for the entire month or pay by the week is available. $
Quilters
These nifty stitchers meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 9 am-12 pm. They use donated material to provide cheer and warmth. Their beautiful quilts are donated to various charitable groups. Fabric donations are always welcome.
Knitting/Crocheting Group
Meets the second Friday of each month at 9 am. The Knitters generate over 1,000 mittens, scarves, lap robes, afghans, booties, slippers, and more for 191 schools and various charitable organizations within our community. We'll even help you learn basic knitting and crocheting.
Card Recyclers
Meet the second and fourth Monday of the month, from 12:30-4 pm. With some clever scissors, a little paper and a lot of creativity, this group transforms discarded greeting cards into new treasures. Donate old cards, help recycle or drop by and purchase a few!
SOUTH METRO STITCHERS
This maker group meets the 4th Monday of the month (Unless there's a holiday, then look for an alternate date), 5-8 pm. South Metro Stitchers are cross stitchers, needle pointers, knitters, crocheters, tatters and any other type of hand stitcher you can think of. Bring your project and stitch with us. If you are a beginner looking for tips, we probably have someone who can help you. Contact Sara- sbmillerok at yahoo.com for more information.
Book Clubs
Books R Us meets on the 3rd Monday of the month at 1 pm in the Meeting Room at Diamondhead. This group works in partnership with the Dakota County Library system. The librarian assists with discussions and book selections, although Book Club members decide what will be read. Monthly RSVPs are appreciated.
The Tuesday Book Club meets monthly on the first Tuesday at 1 pm at Barnes & Noble, 828 W Country Rd 42. (952-892-9280).
